Night Parrot
Pezoporus occidentalis
One of the world's most elusive birds, the Night Parrot is a small, cryptic, ground-dwelling parrot of Australia's arid interior. Its mottled green-and-yellow plumage provides near-perfect camouflage in spinifex grasslands. Thought extinct for over a century, it was sensationally rediscovered in 2013 in western Queensland.
Fun Fact
