Small, slender, and naturally bright green and yellow with black scalloped markings on the wings, the Budgerigar is the world's most popular pet parrot. Wild populations swarm across the arid interior of Australia in vast nomadic flocks. Remarkably social, they can learn to mimic human speech with a vocabulary of hundreds of words.
