Philippine Hanging Parrot

Loriculus philippensis

A tiny green jewel of the Philippine forests, this parrot earns its name by sleeping upside down like a bat, clinging to branches with its feet. Males flash a red crown and blue face patch. Found across most Philippine islands, it feeds on nectar, fruits, and soft seeds in the forest canopy.
