Kea

Nestor notabilis

The Kea is the world's only alpine parrot, a stocky olive-green bird with brilliant orange underwings revealed in flight. Endemic to New Zealand's South Island mountains, it's notorious for its intelligence, curiosity, and penchant for dismantling car windshield wipers and backpacks. Its playful, social nature and problem-solving skills rival those of primates.
