Eurasian Bullfinch

A plump, quiet finch of woodland edges and hedgerows, the male Eurasian Bullfinch glows with a rosy-red breast set off by a glossy black cap, blue-gray back, and flashing white rump. Shy and unobtrusive, it feeds on buds, seeds, and berries. Its soft, piping call often gives it away before it is seen.
