Cedar Waxwing
Bombycilla cedrorum
Silky smooth plumage in warm brown and gray, a black mask, a jaunty crest, and waxy red tips on the wing feathers make the Cedar Waxwing one of the most elegant North American songbirds. Highly social, they roam in tight flocks across the continent feeding on berries. They are sometimes seen passing berries beak-to-beak along a branch in a charming social ritual.
Fun Fact
Cedar Waxwings sometimes get drunk from eating fermented berries and crash into windows.
