Yellow Warbler
Setophaga petechia
Bright as a ray of sunshine, the Yellow Warbler is a small songbird with warm yellow plumage and rusty-red streaks on the male's breast. It breeds across most of North America in willows and shrubs near water, migrating to Central and South America for winter. It's one of the most frequent hosts of the Brown-headed Cowbird's parasitic eggs.
Fun Fact
When cowbirds lay eggs in their nests, Yellow Warblers build a new floor over them and start again.
