House Sparrow

Small and chunky with a stout bill, the male House Sparrow wears a gray cap and black bib, while females are streaked brown. Introduced from Europe, it now thrives in cities and farms on every inhabited continent. One of the most successful non-native species in history, it is rarely found far from human habitation.
