Elf Owl

No bigger than a sparrow at just 13 centimeters, the Elf Owl is the world's smallest owl. It nests in abandoned woodpecker holes in saguaro cacti and trees across the deserts of the southwestern United States and Mexico. Despite its tiny size, it's a fierce nocturnal hunter of insects, scorpions, and small invertebrates.
