The male Satin Bowerbird has deep, glossy blue-black plumage and striking violet eyes. Found in eastern Australia's wet forests, the male builds an elaborate avenue-style bower decorated almost exclusively with blue objects — feathers, flowers, bottle caps, pen lids — to attract females. His obsessive collecting and interior design skills are legendary in the bird world.
