Bearded Vulture

Also known as the Bearded Vulture, the Lammergeier is a striking raptor with rusty-orange underparts, dark wings, and bristle-like feathers dangling beneath its bill. It inhabits mountain ranges across southern Europe, Africa, and Central Asia. Uniquely among vultures, it feeds primarily on bones, dropping them from great heights onto rocks to crack them open.
