Canada Goose
Branta canadensis
Identified by its black head and neck with a distinctive white chinstrap, the Canada Goose is abundant across North America. Originally a true migratory species, many populations have become year-round urban residents in parks and golf courses. They fly in recognizable V-formations and mate for life.
Fun Fact
Canada Geese fly in a V-formation to reduce wind resistance and take turns leading.
