The largest living pigeon, the Victoria Crowned Pigeon wears an elegant lace-like crest of blue-tipped feathers atop its head. Native to the lowland forests of New Guinea, it walks the forest floor foraging for fallen fruits and seeds. Its deep, booming calls echo through the understory.
