A slender gray bird with white wing patches that flash conspicuously in flight, the Northern Mockingbird is the virtuoso vocalist of North American backyards. Found across the United States and Mexico, it can learn and reproduce over 200 different songs and sounds. Males famously sing through the night during breeding season, cycling through their entire repertoire.
