South America's tallest flying bird, the Jabiru stands up to 1.4 meters tall with stark white plumage, a massive black upturned bill, and a distinctive red throat band. It wades through wetlands of the Pantanal, Amazon, and Llanos, feeding on fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Its enormous stick nests are reused and expanded year after year.
