A large, long-billed shorebird with warm cinnamon breeding plumage, the Bar-tailed Godwit holds the record for the longest nonstop flight of any bird. One individual flew over 13,000 kilometers from Alaska to New Zealand without resting, eating, or drinking. It breeds in Arctic tundra and winters along coastlines across the Southern Hemisphere.
