Atlantic Puffin
Fratercula arctica
With its colorful orange-and-blue striped bill, black-and-white tuxedo plumage, and bright orange feet, the Atlantic Puffin looks almost comically dressed up. It breeds on North Atlantic coastal cliffs and spends winters entirely at sea. Puffins can carry a dozen or more small fish crosswise in their bills at once to feed their chicks.
Fun Fact
Puffins can carry up to 12 fish at once in their beaks, arranged head to tail.
